The Strange / Baker Family Cemetery was established ca.1795.  This graveyard was forgotten by the general public and local historians until local water conservation work crews came across it by total accident.  At the time, the workers were clearing the thick foliage and trees from the 800 acre partial of land.

Located just outside the Catherine Lake region of Onslow County, North Carolina and is on restricted property.  Family members can visit when joined by Jack Robinson.  Also, with advance written approval of property owners, one-on-one tours of the area with Jack Robinson is possible.

One of the first educators for Richlands' area is among the buried within the Strange/Baker Cemetery.

Since the Strange/Baker family cemetery is an ongoing project and can only be assessible for stabilization during mild climate, pictures and updated material will be added, as the project evolves.

Please contact Jack Robinson, if you are aware of the Strange/Baker family cemetery. Copies of pre-1930 era photographs and family genealogy material will always be welcomed.
